East African Summer School on Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry

August 9-20, 2004

This summer school was covered material on the Grassmann variety and Schubert cells, Plücker coordinates and standard bitableaux as well as computational topics of algebra includinding the division algorithm, Buchberger's algorithm and Groebner bases.  Computer labs introduced the computer algebra software CoCoA with exercises related to computation of ideals and quotients in polynomial rings.
